Laura Jolly is a boutique milliner crafting handmade bespoke and collection head wear
'From a young age I loved wearing something on my head. I remember being given the most beautiful flower crown when I was a flower girl aged 7 at a family wedding. I loved being on the stage as a child, the escapism it allows from reality, the creativity of expression and being slightly eccentric. After university I embarked on a career as a nurse, where being in uniform is the norm. This is perhaps why I love colour and creativity in my personal life. Friends comment on my colourful wardrobe, and confidence in statement choices. I now bring this passion into creating luxury head wear to share with you all, and in 2019 founded Lulu Bloom.
I design and craft all headpieces from my studio in Suffolk. The fashion industry is becoming more conscientious, and I endeavour to work as sustainably as possible, locally sourcing fabric, and using gorgeous pre-loved garments too. My headwear uses natural fibre materials to make the bases, and many different embellishments, from feathers, to sequins, flowers and beading. I have farming roots and find inspiration from nature. I collect materials for my feather work from my family farm in Suffolk and take floral inspiration from my garden.
Whether you are looking for an everyday piece from the signature headband collection, or something for a special occasion, I believe head wear helps create identity, and Lulu Bloom would love to be a part of that journey with you. If it's the collection you love, or it provides inspiration for a bespoke piece, or simply you would like something you’ve seen but in a different colour, please get in touch so I can help you create your vision. I'd love to welcome you to my Suffolk studio in IP31 3NN, or can offer online consultations - your choice!
Please don't hesitate to get in touch for collaborations, press, or personal enquiries.
